In preperation for the film poster task in the summer tern 2010 we had a six week photography course with Brit School teacher, Miss Williams. She taught us a variety of techniques that you can use when taking a picture, adn helped us develop a deeper understanding of what photos can mean and interpret to the viewer, by experimeting with colour and what is acutally in the photo itself.
I took a varitey of photos of the bathroom bin that appears in my film.
After experimenting with all the different light options that where avalibale to me in the bathroom, as well as the positioning of the bin and the angle of the camera, i finally took a picture, that i wanted to take into further editing stages, to be used as my film poster.(see picture
below)
I decided that i wanted the main focus in my film poster to be the bathroom bin, because the bin is significant to my film as it was had the 'hidden secret' in it.
To do this i figured that using the colouring popping technique that i learnt in my GCSE media course could be effective. I did my photo editing at home. My laptop only offered me paint as an option so i searched online for photo editing package that would allow me to do what i needed for free.
Eventually I discovered a free download called 'Tintii' that specialised in colour popping photos. I downloaded this straight to my laptop.
Tintii automatically made my picture black and white, and then as you can see on the right of the screen shot (above)each section of the photo had seperate colouring. I used the top colouring for the bin and popped the colour of the bin back to a bright red, so it stood out, and left of the bathroom in black and white. I then saved this and went online to a photo editor that I used regualary called 'FotoFlexer'.

I uploaded my colour popped photo to this site. From here I added text and further images. (i.e Stars)
The result can be found on my main page. 'AmyLouise Media' in the ancillary task section.
